We collect information you provide directly, including your name, email address, and property details. We also collect usage data and analytics to improve the Service.
We use the information we collect to provide, maintain, and improve the Service, process payments, send service-related communications, and comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers necessary to operate HostGreeter (e.g., Supabase for database, Stripe for payments, DeepL for translations).
When we run paid advertising, we additionally report to Google Ads that a signup followed one of its ad clicks. What we send is the click identifier described in section 6 and the time of the signup — never your email address, name, property details or any other account data.
Guest welcome pages are publicly accessible via access code. When a guest opens a page we record analytics events — page views, QR scans, which sections are viewed, the page language, the country the visit originated from, and a coarse device type (mobile, tablet, or desktop). The country is derived from the connection at the moment of the visit; we do not store the guest's IP address and we do not collect precise location (no city or GPS). These analytics are not used to identify individual guests, contain no contact details, and are displayed only to the property owner to help them understand how their welcome page is used.
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us.
We use cookies for authentication and session management. We set no third-party advertising cookies and run no ad-network tracking pixels.
If you accept analytics cookies, and only then, we record how you first reached us: the campaign labels in the link you arrived through (such as utm_campaign) and, for visits from a paid ad, the click identifier the advertising platform appends to the link (gclid, gbraid, or wbraid). These are kept in your browser for the current session and, if you create an account, attached to that signup so we can tell which campaign brought it — including reporting the signup back to the advertising platform as a conversion. The click identifier identifies an ad click, not you; it is never sent to our website analytics provider and is never used to build a profile or to show you ads. If you decline analytics cookies we store none of this and delete anything already held.
